Enjoy Kimita’s regional cuisine made with local ingredients cooked using a traditional Japanese style hearth called “irori,” Kimita Onsen’s specialty.
We also offer bread and coffee, and a take-out menu!
IRORI DINING
We sell udon (thick noodles made with wheat flour) made using mochi mugi (Japanese pearl barley) grown in Kimita.
Mochi mugi is known for its health benefits – it is rich in dietary fiber and helps boost your immunity.
The noodle is soft but has a chewy and supple texture. Udon is usually served in a bowl of soup, but our “tsuke udon” is served uniquely in a “tsukemen” (“dipping noodle”) style, where you enjoy it by dipping the cold noodles into a bowl of warm soup!
The special udon we serve is a rare treat, so please try some during your visit.
